Taucher 2 is designed to fit most wrists with a diameter of 41 mm. The case comes in a round, brushed 316L stainless steel case that brings back the charm of the 70s but retains its own unique personality. The round case also comes with polished edges, giving the case an even more distinctive and refined look. The large knurled screw crown emphasises the "tool watch" character and makes the watch easier to operate. The lugs are drilled to easily change from bracelet to a standard third party strap.
Taucher 2 dial is coated with enamel on which a brushed silver ring and brushed indexes are applued. The dials are available in a wider range of colours and with or without a date window.
A dial straight from the sky 💫 The Taucher 2 with limited meteorite dial ☄️Each meteorite dial is unique with its unique Widmanstätten pattern, which is created by the high temperatures at which the meteorite enters the atmosphere. We use an iron-nickel meteorite to create these beautiful dials. In addition, we have filled the engraved waves of the bezel side profile of each meteorite dial version with Swiss Super-LumiNova® C3.
NOTE: If you would like to have the luminescent-filled waves also on the Taucher 2 with standard colour dial, you can add this unique look to your Taucher 2 order for 70 EUR.
Bezel
As for our designs we love to go into new directions and love to add some details even if it gets challenging during engineering. For the bezel, like in Taucher 1 we went for the wave engravements on the bezel sideprofile. This little detail was well appreciated already and is the signature of the Taucher designs.
Apart from that for the bezel top we went for a 2-pieces insert where we combined a brushed Stainless Steel ring with ceramic insert. This gives the bezel not only a cool look and conrast but also plays well with the dial where we use a Stainless steel ring to make the dial design more interesting.
Caseback
As for the Taucher 1 we also wanted to have a unique caseback for the Taucher 2. We took inspiration from vintage 70s printed media and dive magazines in order to be consistent with whole 70s look of the watch design. In this era the shark was the symbol of the evil predator even before "Jaws" was released. Today we know unfortunately mankind is the real threat for sharks. Wearing the martial caseback illustration on the wrist shall also have a symbolic character to embrace our fears and focus on our mission.
Bracelet
Gay Frères was not only an early bracelet supplier to Rolex but also introduced the first ladder bracelet for the Zenith El Primero in 1969. We love the ladder bracelet style and designed our own with its own distinctive cool look and therefore it fits perfectly to the Taucher 2 overall design. The bracelet tapers down from 20mm to 18mm to emphasize the look even more and make the wearing of the watch even more comfortable. The bracelet is screwed to easily adjust the length.
For the clasp, we use a comfortable double-secured folding clasp.
With the drilled lugs you can also easily exchange the bracelet with standard 20mm third party straps.
Movement
The Taucher 2 is powered by the Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 in grade Elaboré. In terms of specs, the Elaboré version of the SW200-1 movement has a greater precision of +/- 7 seconds per day vs. the Standard version which has a precision of +/- 12 seconds per day. The movement of the Taucher 2 will be adjusted in 3 positions.
